Dallo Stornello al Rap
Roma nel Mondo announces the 4th edition of the contest “Dallo Stornello al Rap”, an event for young musicians (under 35 years old), to create new songs in Roman dialect or in Italian, dealing with any kind of theme, talking about the city, in order to convey a contemporary message. The contest is open to every kind of musical genre as folk, melodic, rock, reggae, blues, jazz and rap.
The contest is placed in the cultural and artistic project of the same name, created by Elena Bonelli, that is working, from 16 years, to spread the Roman song in Italy and abroad.
The main goal of the contest is to refuel with new energy the Roman song, in order to awaken the young musicians artistic verve, to move on a new Roman song trend.
The jury, composed by renowned artistic and music representatives, will select three winners among ten proposals.
Winners win the prize money.
The subscription is completely free.

THE FINAL OF THE CONTEST IN SOME PRESTIGIOUS THEATRES OF ROME
The final award ceremony of the “Roman Song Gran Gala – Dallo Stornello al rap” has been a great success, both to Auditorium Parco della Musica and the Olympic Theatre of Rome. Elena Bonelli, the evening host, sings with famous guests (they have changed during the different editions, as the best known stornello singer, Giorgio Onorato, Flaminio Maphia, Amedeo Minghi, Antonello Venditti, Federico Moccia, Dario Salvatori) and new rising talents.
An important opportunity for the young artists that perform in front of renowned producers, music-industry executives, journalists and famous artists.
The contest launched Cranio Randagio, Emilio Stella (1° edition) Lontano da qui, Rasmo, Mirkoeilcane (2nd edition) Simone Gamberi (3rd edition).
The incredible results are the new emerging artists of the Roman rap and other genres too. Mirkoeilcane that, after the contest, has participated to the Sanremo Festival , in the Ariston Theatre, awarded for his talent. Another positive confirmation of “Rome in the world – dallo Stornello al Rap” is the attention paid to the Roman song, that unfortunately disappeared for over 15 years, that is accepted for the very first time, to the Sanremo Festival, with the song of Luca Barbarossa “Passame er sale” (Pass me the salt).
The first edition of the contest was composed by renowned music artists as: Dario Salvatori, Marco Molendini, Stefano Mannucci, Simone Cristicchi, Simone Eleuteri alias Danno dei Colle der Fomento, Enrico Vanzina, Carla Vistarini, Pippo Caruso, Ambrogio Sparagna, Stefano Reali, Cesare Ranucci Rascel, Ernesto Assante, Ferdinando Bideri, Franco Bixio, Paolo Dossena, Renato Marengo, Paolo Zefferi.
The second edition made a breakthrough, composed by a comitee of more renowned entertainment representatives: Flaminio Maphia, Federica Gentile, Claudia Gerini, Marco Giusti, Max Giusti, Simona Izzo, Stefano Jurgens, Valerio Mastandrea, Alvaro Moretti, Neri Parenti, Pinuccio Pirazzoli, Ricky Tognazzi, Fabrizio Zampa and the President Antonello Venditti.
The jury of the third edition was composed by: Gabriele Cirilli, Fabrizio Finamore, Rodolfo Laganà, Marco Luci, Simona Marchini, Gianni Mazza, Carlotta Proietti, Cristiano Minellono, Massimo Bonelli, Carlotta Tedeschi, Marinella Venegoni, Peppe Vessicchio and the President Federico Moccia.
The jury of the 4th edition is still work in progress.
