Singer

Elena Bonelli is the only interpreter and ambassador of the Roman song not only in Italy but in the world. For the past twenty years she has dedicated herself to the enhancement and dissemination of the Roman song.
Elena’s work moves between concerts and shows but also her time is spent in research, lectures and in publications, therefore it is not surprising that her name denotes her as the Voice of Rome.

Reviving the Roman song

In 2002, the artist gave life to the “Rome in the World” project, after having formed a partnership with the director, Carlo Lizzani and Maestro, Pippo Caruso, under the artistic direction of Sergio Bardotti.
The declared goal is to bring the Roman song, back into vogue, making it possible to rediscover its poetry, elegance and extraordinary tradition on a national and international level.

The folk song of the Capital of Italy is accompanied by symphonic arrangements of exceptional refinement performed by well known orchestras that have accompanied the artist on international tours; from Rome Sinfonietta to the Nova Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, from the Busan Metropolitan Pops Orchestra to the Symphony Orchestra Dohnayi Erno of Budafok, etc.

This is how the Roman song enters the sacred temples of music around the world, from the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome to Carnegie Hall in New York, from the Auditorium Parco della Musica to the Lincoln Theater, the Roman Theater in Turkey and many other prestigious stages in more than 100 countries around the world.

Relaunch of the Mameli Anthem, Elena Bonelli the official voice.

In addition to a career dedicated to the Capitoline melody, Elena Bonelli in 2000 proposed to the illustrious President, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, a great project to relaunch the Mameli Hymn, becoming the official voice of the Hymn, under the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic.
On June 2, 2002, the project was crowned by the release of a CD distributed by Corriere della Sera with the music of the Banda dell’Arma dei Carabinieri and the solo voice of Elena Bonelli.

The CD had an overwhelming success, in just one day over one and a half million copies were in the hands of the Italians who have since begun to proudly sing the National Anthem which until that day the population had ignored.

It is through the dedication of Elena Bonelli, that today the Italians sing, the Mameli Hymn.
